A new lift has been installed at Aberdeen’s Snowsports Centre at Garthdee in Scotland.

Operators Sport Aberdeen have invested £100,000 in the facility, which incorporates a Snowflex dry slope and facilities for skiing, boarding and tubing.

The conveyor lift – common in beginner areas at many ski resorts now, but less so at dry ski slopes,  will allow children and adults with additional support needs to access the slopes.

The new facility was opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Sport Aberdeen’s boss Colin Taylor along with children from local primary schools who were amongst the first to use the new lift.

Mr Taylor said that he hoped the new easy-to-use lift would encourage more people of all ability levels to use the slope.

A free tubing taster session was  also organised.
