There have been more snowfalls reported in the Alps, as what is becoming an increasingly snowy February continues.
Reports of 20-50cm of fresh snowfall have been posted by resorts across France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland lover the past 48 hours. Chamonix is pictured above yesterday.
For many this is the third or fourth snowfall in the past few weeks, with some now having had more than a metre of snowfall in February, good news after the largely dry January.
There has also been snowfall in the Pyrenees, which has had very little fresh snow for the past few months. The area had huge autumn snowfalls which gave it a deeper base than the rest of Europe and allowed ski areas in the region to open all their slopes but they had been lacking fresh snow until now.
