Switzerland’s famous Davos Klosters resort has been working on rewilding between Usser Isch and the Carjöl areas of the Jakobshorn and created a new piste there. The 2.5 km run back down to Davos Platz relieves pressure on the Gämpen slope (largely a forest road) and the now defunct FIS Ischalp slalom run. The reforested has returned 10,000 sqm of the mountainside back to nature.

Visitors to Davos this winter will find a number of new accommodation options waiting including Joseph’s House Davos ***S relaunch. The hotel, a striking Art Nouveau property has been welcoming guests for many years with its distinctive style and flair but has been renovated for the coming winter. Joseph’s House now benefits from impressive architecture and modern furnishings. Young couples, groups and companies will feel at home in this 3-star superior hotel in the centre of Davos Platz and enjoy the wellness/fitness areas, the bar and event facilities

In addition the three-star Hotel Sport in Klosters has expanded its family facilities to include a 200 sqm indoor playground. The new ‘Capricorn Playground’ is located in the former gym of the 12,000 sqm hotel complex. A spiral slide, spider climbing tower, suspension bridge, hanging snakes and poke bags are highlights in the fun park. As well as a basketball and football pitch with interactive goals, a climbing wall and a table tennis table, there is also a toddler area with large Lego bricks

A favourite of the British Royal family and annual host of the World Economic Forum, Davos Klosters has had a close connection with the UK going back to the 19th century. Robert Louis Stevenson came for his health and wrote Treasure Island there in 1881. Arthur Conan Doyle’s account of an adventurous ski tour from Davos to Arosa in 1894 fuelled British interest in the new sport.

The combined attractions of high altitude and abundant snowfall put Davos-Klosters firmly at the top of the A-list for a classic Swiss Alpine winter holiday. Fifty-seven lifts serve 300km of piste across six distinct ski areas, with limitless off-piste, touring and cross-country ski opportunities.

Non-skiers are have scenic winter walking trails, extensive shopping, fine dining, wellness facilities, museums, cultural events and evening entertainment.
