Ski areas in Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland have all reported good snowfalls.
One noteworthy fact is that the snows has been falling in the south eastern corner of the Alps and Eastern Dolomites which has not had much snow so far this winter. Both Bad Kleinkircheim in South Eastern Austria and Arabba in the Italian Dolomites have reported over 30cm/a foot of new snow in the past 24 hours.

Some of the biggest snowfalls have been reported in the French Alps where Bonneval has had 50cm, ski areas in the 3 Valleys (Meribel pictured top) up to around 40cm and La Plagne 35cm. There was 30cm in the Portes du Soleil and Grand Massif regions. Most other French resorts report at least 20cm – as have ski areas in Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
The snow is still falling at many resorts.
Elsewhere it has also been snowy in Scandinavia and the Pyrenees are expected to get a big snowfall on Friday/Saturday.
