A snow storm a week before Lake Tahoe in California’s Alpine Meadows ski resort opens for the season tomorrow has left 8.5 feet (2.5m) of new snow at mid mountain making it the largest single storm to be recorded in November in the resort’s history.
“The mountain changed literally overnight,” said Rachael Woods, spokesperson for Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. “We’re thrilled with the snow conditions. Skiers and riders will experience world-class conditions on opening day.”
